Sarkozy and Cameron – Troubles of a Virgo Nature

Nicolas Sarkozy the  President of France and his poor showing in the French Presidential elections and David Cameron, the UK Prime minister and his Political problems with Double dip recession of  UK and Murdoch revealations to name a few –  both share an astrological connection.They have Virgo Lagna

Virgo as you may recall from my earlier blog, is in a fix and creating all kinds of stress specially those who have Virgo ascendant. I wrote in January 2012 ‘The sign Virgo is being blocked by Saturn in Libra and Mars is Leo. This is known as a Papakartari Yoga – the malefic energy is creating pressure on Virgo. This  began as soon as Saturn went into Libra on 15 november 2011 and Mars is having a long stay in Leo. Saturn retrogrades back into Virgo on 15 May 2012 and releases the pressures on Virgo. To add to the Virgo woes Mercury its ruling planet has had a long debilitation and will continue to do so till 5 May 2012. Mercury will go past Gandanta position of Pisces Aries on 5th May too. Plus UK 1801 chart ( one most used by Astrologers)  also has Virgo Lagna.

Nicolas Sarkozy 

Nicolas Sarkozy has Virgo Lagna and at present is in Moon Saturn Dasha. The main problem for Sarkozy is that his lagna is being squeezed by Saturn and Mars till 15 May and therefore he is facing a insurmountable problems- he cannot move forward or backward. Then his lagna lord Mercury is debilitated by transit and more worryingly for him it will be gandanta on the 5th May, the day before the second round of the election when it changes signs to Aries.  Mercury in Pisces does not make for rational thinking – by the electorate or by the choices made by the politicians. Nicolas Sarkozy can make judgement mistakes as it is his Lagna lord which is debilitated.

Mercury in Aries from 5 May can bring a last minute boost  as it gives new momentum- but which candidate does it boost?. Nicolas Sarkozy or Francois Hollande. The public may be looking for new alternatives. Even though Lagna Lord has moved on- Virgo continues in the papakartari and challenging Nicolas Sarkozy. It is tough for him to win but as I do not know Francois Hollande’s chart, it is difficult to make an informed judgement.

David Cameron

Another virgo Lagna who is going through rough times. His government is daily facing negative situations and it appears his Prime Minister-ship is one of wrong judgments. The papakartari on his Lagna and the debilitation of the lagna lord is adding to his problems too. As this papakartari has been going on since November –  each month has brought more bad news for him. The Levenson Inquiry into Newspapers ethics and the unholy alliance between the Murdochs and him is the latest test his government faces plus UK has gone into a double dip recession today. UK itself has Virgo Lagna- so the country and its leader are both ties together in this challenging situation.

Fortunately for David Cameron, he is not up for re-election as yet but watch for more negative news till the papakartari ends on 15 May. It will be a relief to have Saturn back in Virgo for him. Some damage is already done and may never be fixed. His Dasha is Venus Mercury – Venus is debilitated in the lagna so his reputation suffers and Mercury is the lord of Venus and therefore highlighting the debilitation. Mercury is  placed with Ketu adding to the difficult times

Whitney Houston – Great Diva, Sad Life

The sad life of Whitney Houston came to end on 11 Feb 2012. She leaves behind a huge legacy of fabulous music and a few films. Often those who shine the brightest also burn out quickly. She follows in the footsteps of other great legends. The sorrow of her life came to an end but her work will be remembered for a long time.  I wrote about her life in in my book Personal Panchanga.

She died with Moon, Ketu and Rahu Dasha. Moon is in the 2nd house which is Maraka. Ketu and Rahu both can bring untimely death.  Whitney’s 8th lord which deals with span of life is Mercury and Moon was in Revati Nakshatra which is ruled by Mercury and Mercury itself is placed in another Maraka ( death giving house) and is hemmed in by Saturn and Mars.

Generally Aquarius Lagna suffer from Heart disease and Rahu can also bring it. Another name for Kumbha is known as Hridya Roga or heart disease and they have to be very careful. The Bhukti and Prayanatara rulers Ketu and Rahu can bring issues with drugs too. To add to this at the time of her death there was a transit papakartari yoga to Virgo ( natal 8th house) and Moon, the Dasha ruler was in Virgo – also in papakartari.  more on virgo and papakartari.

She died on  krishna panchami – waning Moon 5th tithi, therefore her memory should be celebrated on  krishna panchami of every month and annually during Shraddha panchami.

The Legacy

The Legacy of the departing soul is studied from their death chart. This is known as the Punya chart. Punya means good deeds and the chart of the time of death shows what good deed she have done in this life.

The lagna is Vargotamma Gemini with its lord Mercury is in the 9th house of higher self.  Three benefics in the 9th, 10th and 11th houses specially the exalted Venus in the 10th show a huge legacy and immortality of Whitney Houston.  Moon is  in both papakartari and  Adhi yoga.  Papakartari  indicates the sadness at her loss but her own sadness too while the Adhi Yoga shows she will not be forgotten and the joy of her talent.

Virgo in a Fix

The sign Virgo is being blocked by Saturn in Libra and Mars is Leo. This is known as a Papakartari Yoga – the malefic energy is creating pressure on Virgo. If your lagna, Moon or Sun is in Virgo, you are feeling the heat.  The Virgo lagna can experience health issues, Virgo Moon will feel emotionally unsettled and Virgo Sun can experience uncertainity about who they are. The situation can be a crisis and you do not know whether to go forward or backward as both the routes are blocked. Forward by Saturn and back by Mars. Moving back bring the conflicts of Mars but he can also defend and protect you  while the forward path is the delay of Saturn. Accept the delay and Saturn usually rewards those with patience. Do not take the path of aggression/ frustration as Mars can lead to conflict and Saturn to depression. Challenging to say the least.

Other signs will feel the pressure but to a lesser degree- the house which has Virgo is functioning less than normal – if the 10th house is Virgo, then the blockage is about work, if 7th is Virgo- then about career.

What can one expect with this papakartari? The main impact is frustration as the person is caught between a rock and a hard place. Life is stuck in a groove and nothing seems to work.  They are in a fix, with not a lot working for them at present. The best way to deal with this transit is to understand the choices are limited.  If you are trying to resolve an issue, it will take time atleast till 15 May 2012 before you can move ahead from it. The wise action is not to have too many expectations about results and rather than pushing for result be philosophical and allow yourself the time.

Mercury, the ruling planet is out of the influence of Rahu. It is helping but it cannot fully take away the influence. Jupiter is influencing both Mars and Saturn – so that gives relief but there is no aspect on Virgo.
